Vazquez Hurls Rancho Cucamonga to Shutout Victory Thursday, August 8th , 2097 Edwin Vazquez shut down the High Desert Mavericks today, blanking them 8-0 on 6 hits, ringing up 8 strikeouts and allowing 2 walks. The Rancho Cucamonga Quakes pitcher appeared to get stronger as the game went on. "I don't know if I was getting any stronger," Vazquez said after the game. "I feel like my mechanics were getting better. I was able to make some adjustments and get a little more comfortable out there." For the season Vazquez has compiled a 12-3 record with a 2.07 ERA.
