Hit Parade: Renner Pops 5 Hits Wednesday, August 20th , 2098 Getting 5 hits in a game has always been memorable feat in baseball. In the Modesto's 21-7 win over Bakersfield today, catcher Bryan Renner was red-hot, scorching them for hit after hit at Historic Sam Lynn Ballpark. "To hit the ball consistently well, you have to relax," Renner said afterward. "I was relaxed for the first four hits, but I have to admit, I got a little tight when I realized I had a chance for five. On the last at-bat, I was ready to swing at anything close." Bryan Renner hit a three-run home run off Mike LaCoursiere in the 1st, singled in the 3rd, hit an RBI single in the 3rd, hit a solo-shot off Jose Mercedes in the 5th, singled in the 6th and flied out in the 7th.
