The future looks extremely bright for Mark Wallace. At the age of 25, many players are still trying to find their way in California League.

Wallace has not only found his way, he's already established himself as one of the game's brightest stars, today being named the winner of the California League Most Valuable Player Award.

"I didn't expect to hit .320 this year, that's for sure," the center fielder said.

The Stockton Ports star also put up a .390 on-base percentage this year, with 157 hits, 33 doubles, 11 triples, 34 home runs, 108 RBIs and 96 runs scored.

He received 4 first place votes out of a possible 10. Justin Collins of the Lancaster JetHawks finished second in voting with 4 first place votes, while Ricky Blanco of the High Desert Mavericks finished third with 2 first place votes.
