Dunedin Snaps Schell Streak at 20
Thursday, June 27th , 2115
The 20-game hitting streak is over.
Daytona Tortugas second baseman Jerry Schell failed to get a hit against the Dunedin Blue Jays and had his consecutive-game hitting streak broken. The 22-year-old went 0-for-2 in his club's 3-2 victory over the Blue Jays at Florida Auto Exchange Stadium.
"I think I only made it to 20 games because I got lucky once or twice," he said. "So I guess I can't complain too much that I got unlucky and broke the streak."
In 67 games this year, Schell has posted a .319 average and put up these numbers: 1 home run, 30 RBIs and 34 runs scored.
