Glenn Torches Dragons for 5 Hits Friday, August 8th, 2053 It's not something you read about in the sports pages every day -- a 5-for-5 day. For many, it might come around only once in a career -- and for Anderson Glenn, it came around today. The 22-year-old right fielder scattered hits all over Fifth Third Field to pace the Great Lakes Loons to a 13-5 victory over the Dayton Dragons. Dayton skipper Kyle Ruchim told reporters in the press room that "Glenn deserves a hat-tip." "He hit some good pitches against us," he said. "In fact, according to our scouting reports, Glenn hit several that he is not supposed to be able to hit." Anderson Glenn doubled in the 1st, hit an RBI single in the 3rd, singled in the 5th, singled in the 7th and hit a two-run triple in the 8th. Thus far this season Glenn is hitting .233 with 5 home runs, 27 RBIs and 48 runs scored. He has 97 hits in 416 at-bats and has played in 105 games. View Boxscore |
