Super Swinger -- Almanza Slams 5 Hits Wednesday, July 14th , 2083 It was a parade of hits for Ignacio Almanza of the West Michigan Whitecaps at Fifth Third Ballpark today. Connecting almost every time he went to the plate, Almanza finished the day with a total of 5 hits in 5 at-bats. His strong individual effort propelled the Whitecaps to a 16-8 victory. "Almanza was really good and we were really bad," groaned Kernels manager Ty Moore. "Next time he's that hot, we'll just walk him."
