25-Game Hitting Streak for Danker Friday, August 25th , 2079 It has been quite a while since somebody held Dennis Danker without a hit in a game. The Peoria Chiefs weren't the ones to do it in today's game at Veterans Memorial Stadium. Danker banged out 2 hits for the Cedar Rapids Kernels and extended his hitting streak to 25 consecutive games in his club's 8-3 victory. "I really enjoy numbers and statistics, so it's been fun seeing how long this streak will go," he said. Dennis Danker hit an RBI single in the 1st, hit an RBI double in the 4th, flied out in the 5th, flied out in the 7th and walked in the 8th. This season Danker is batting .344 with 145 hits, 12 home runs, 70 RBIs, 45 walks, .405 OBP and has scored 56 runs. He has played in 105 games. |
