Round 1 Goes the Distance, Lake County Prevails Wednesday, September 13th , 2079 With a narrow 3-2 series win, the Lake County Captains have eliminated the Dayton Dragons and are Round 1 winners. "We tried not to look ahead to the Round 2, but we thought we'd be there for sure," said right fielder Sebastian Newsome, who was named series MVP. Lake County won the final game by a score of 5-3, wrapping it up at Classic Park. Newsome's big series saw him hit .444 with a .500 on-base percentage. He had 4 home runs, drove in 8 RBI and scored 5 runs. The Lake County Captains will play against the Quad Cities River Bandits in the next round.
