Severs Strokes 5 Hits Sunday, August 10th , 2110 5 hits in 5 at-bats. It doesn't happen every day, and when it does, it's exciting. Today, Mike Severs of the West Michigan Whitecaps had a sensational game against Dayton at Fifth Third Field. He rifled base hits all over the ballpark in his team's 11-2 shellacking of the Dragons. In the postgame press conference, he joked that he was going to take the rest of the week off. "I did all my hitting in one day -- what else do they want from me?" he said with a laugh. Mike Severs doubled in the 2nd, singled in the 4th, doubled in the 6th, hit an RBI double in the 8th and singled in the 9th. Severs is hitting .242 this year with 1 home run, 10 RBIs and 17 runs scored. He has 30 hits in 124 at-bats, 17 walks and a .347 on-base percentage. Severs has played in 46 games.
