River Bandits Win Round 1
Monday, September 13th, 2066
The Quad Cities River Bandits clubhouse was filled with glee and celebration tonight, while the Clinton LumberKings room was filled with despair and sadness after the Round 1 concluded.

"Someone's got to win and someone's got to lose, we're just glad we're on the good end of it tonight and can enjoy this," said Mario Ayala, who was named MVP for a strong series of offensive performance.

Quad Cities won the final game by a 2-0 count at Ashford University Field and the series 3-1.

Clinton manager Craig Stewart was simple and to-the-point in his assessment of the series.

"They were the better team and deserve to move on," he said.

For the series, Ayala hit .214 with a .312 on-base percentage. He had 2 home runs, drove in 7 RBI and scored 3 runs.

The Quad Cities River Bandits will play against the Dayton Dragons in the next round. Dayton won their series against the Bowling Green Hot Rods 3 games to 1. The Round 2 schedule will be announced after the Round 1 finishes.
