River Bandits Sweep Dayton in Round 2
Sunday, September 19th, 2066
And that was all she wrote on the 2066 Round 2. With a 5-0 victory, the Quad Cities River Bandits swept aside the Dayton Dragons 4-0 and set off a much-anticipated celebration.
"It was a lot of hard work," said winning manager Tim Ahern. "But it was good hard work and a lot of fun along the way."
The River Bandits were all business this year, with their eyes fixed squarely on the goal of winning the team's 6th championship. The champs finished the regular season 101-38 and claimed first place in the Western Division.
"We had our doubters along the way," series MVP Angelo Maldonado said with a smile. "But we made them eat crow today."
