They came up empty when it mattered against Batavia Muckdogs right-hander Phil O'Keefe, who scattered 9 hits across 9 innings and held the Spikes scoreless. "We had 9 hits so I know he wasn't completely untouchable, but he was close," State College manager Paul Thomas said later. O'Keefe chalked up 5 strikeouts and 4 walks in the 2-0 Muckdogs win.
