Hit Parade: Contreras Pops 5 Hits Tuesday, July 29th , 2098 Hector Contreras was sizzling at the plate today. In a game played at Howard Johnson Field, the Bluefield shortstop blistered the Johnson City Cardinals for 5 hits in 6 at-bats to pace his club to a 18-8 victory. "Contreras was too tough to get out today," Cardinals skipper Mitch Williams said in his postgame interview. "No matter what we threw him, he hit it. And he hit some good pitches, too." Hector Contreras hit an RBI triple in the 1st, singled in the 2nd, hit an RBI single in the 4th, struck out in the 6th, doubled in the 8th and hit a two-run home run off Jim Unknown in the 8th.
