Waldrop Is August's Best APP Hurler Monday, September 1st , 2110 Steve Waldrop of Johnson City had an award-winning August as he took home the Appalachian League Pitcher of the Month award. "He told me once people used to make fun of the way he pitches," Waldrop's pitching coach told reporters. "There wasn't anybody laughing in August except for Steve." Waldrop was all business when he took the mound though, collecting a 4-1 record in 5 starts. He struck out 51 batters in 42.2 innings and kept opponents to a .169 batting average. Currently Waldrop has a record of 5-5 with 99 strikeouts and 19 walks in 96 innings and a 2.44 ERA. |
