Ackles Gets 2-Game Suspension
Monday, September 15th , 2110
Following an intense confrontation with the home plate umpire in which he was ejected, Red Sox center fielder Josh Ackles was suspended 2 games by the league. Ackles had to be physically restrained by his manager and appeared to make a few threats toward the umpire. He was upset by a called third strike in a game with Bristol at Devault Memorial Stadium.
Ackles could not be reached for comment on the suspension.
Ackles is swinging at a .290 pace on the year with 3 home runs, 28 RBIs and 24 runs scored. He has played in 56 games.
