2B Root Receives 4-Game Suspension
Tuesday, August 27th , 2097
The league office has taken action against Bristol second baseman Jeremy Root for inappropriate action and aggressive conduct in the Pirates game against the Danville Braves. He has been issued a 4-game suspension.

Root was ejected from the game yesterday after arguing a called third strike. He first argued with the plate umpire. Then Root moved up the first-base line, waving his fists at the umpire as the dispute continued. As he left the field, he also argued with the crew chief, who was umpiring at third base. His manager finally convinced him to leave the field as the umpires were threatening to forfeit the game.

Currently Root is batting .275 with 63 hits and 6 home runs. He has knocked in 20 runs and scored 28 times.
