Mets Rice and Royals Hess Suspended for Fight
Thursday, September 15th , 2107
John Rice of the Kingsport Mets and Michael Hess of the Burlington Royals will be on the sidelines for a few days. They have been suspended for 2 and 7 games respectively by the league office for causing the bench-emptying free-for-all at the recent Mets-Royals game at Burlington Athletic Stadium.
Neither player had any comment about the suspensions. Both clubs told BNN Rice and Hess will begin serving them soon.
Currently Rice is batting .273 with 15 hits and 3 home runs. He has knocked in 14 runs and scored 9 times.
This year, Hess has recorded a 3-4 mark. In 13 starts he has fanned 62 batters in 64 innings with a 4.78 ERA.
