Toscano Named Top APP Hurler Saturday, October 1st , 2107 A reliever is at his best when the game is on the line. The pressure doesn't get to him. Miguel Toscano of the Elizabethton Twins is just that kind of pitcher. In September, he was acclaimed the Pitcher of the Month by the Appalachian League. Elizabethton's star reliever held the opposition to a .271 average and put up 2 saves and 15 strikeouts in 13.1 innings with a 4-0 mark and a 1.35 ERA. Over the season, Toscano has made 33 relief appearances with 11 saves. He has K'd 49 batters in 52.1 innings, yielded 29 walks and has a 2.92 ERA. Toscano's record this year is 6-5. |
