Povich Fashions Shutout Against New York N (GCL) Monday, August 27th, 2057 In a seemingly effortless performance, Steve Povich of the St. Louis (GCL) Cardinals shot down the New York N (GCL) Mets 1-0 on a 5-hit shutout. "Steve was just locating so well and using his pitches," St. Louis (GCL) manager Kevin Connell said later. "He wasn't leaving anything over the plate." Povich recorded 5 strikeouts and 1 walk in a strong outing. "When he needed to make pitches, he elevated his game," New York N (GCL) manager Matt Bujak said in his postgame comments to BNN.
