Cortez Blisters Helena Friday, July 7th , 2079 Fans at Hackers Ballpark got to see not only a home-team victory today, but also one of the most impressive feats of hitting of the season. The Portland Tigers outplayed the Helena Brewers en route to a 10-9 win, but the standout was right fielder Hector Cortez. Cortez netted 5 hits in 5 at-bats and finished with a dynamite game line. "Hey, we tried everything we could think of to get him out," Brewers manager Dave Marvell said in postgame comments. "We threw everything but the kitchen sink against him and he hit it. Maybe we should've thrown the sink, too." Hector Cortez hit an RBI single in the 1st, hit a three-run home run off Bob Baez in the 2nd, hit an RBI single in the 3rd, hit an RBI double in the 5th and hit a two-run home run off Juan Yubeta in the 7th.
