Braves, Cardinals Agree to Deal Saturday, July 6th, 2041 It likely won't turn either team into an instant contender or provide a huge franchise shakeup, but the Atlanta Braves and St. Louis Cardinals finalized a trade today. Atlanta will send 22-year-old minor league 2B Doug Gehlen and 25-year-old RHP Dave Marvell to the Cardinals, while the Braves will receive 35-year-old SS Patrício Prncipe. "We think this is a deal that will help out both teams and we're glad to get it done," Braves general manager Chris Greuling said. The trade is expected to be officially completed later today with the players joining their new ballclubs by the end of the day. This season Marvell has logged 27 relief appearances, 71 IP, 85 strikeouts, and a 4.06 ERA. His W-L mark is 1 win and 2 losses, and he has 1 save. In 2041 Prncipe has hit at a .277 clip with 65 hits, 18 home runs, 46 RBIs and has scored 33 times. |
