Orioles Alvarez Smacks 5 Hits Monday, April 7th, 2059 No matter what the Boston Red Sox threw at him today, Antonio Alvarez hit it. He easily handled Red Sox pitching, going 5 for 6 and helping the Orioles to a 10-3 triumph at Fenway Park. "The way I was swinging today, I think I could have closed my eyes and hit the ball," he told BNN reporters in the postgame interview. Told of Alvarez's quip, Red Sox skipper Mike Hanson said he "would take him up on that next time." Antonio Alvarez singled in the 1st, singled in the 3rd, singled in the 5th, hit an RBI double in the 6th, singled in the 7th and grounded out in the 9th.
