Yankees Juan Fernandez Injured: Day-to-Day Friday, May 13th, 2061 Reports out of New York indicate that Juan Fernandez, the gifted starting pitcher, might be sidelined for 2 weeks or so with a finger blister. The 30-year-old star suffered the injury in yesterday's Orioles-Yankees game while throwing a pitch. "It's a game time decision," noted the team doctor, "It all depends on how Juan feels later today. If he can play, he will." Fernandez has gone 5-0 this season with an ERA of 1.18 and 82 strikeouts in 61 innings pitched. Other clubs are hitting .143 against him. |
