Baltimore Snaps Gonzalez Streak at 20 Sunday, May 7th , 2113 All good things must come to an end -- and so it was today for Danny Gonzalez as he saw his 20-game hitting streak end. He went hitless in 5 at-bats at the hands of the Baltimore Orioles. It wasn't all bad for the 25-year-old first baseman and the New York Yankees however, as they defeated Baltimore, 15-2, at Oriole Park at Camden Yards. When asked about his hitting streak, a smiling Gonzalez laughed and said, "I guess my luck ran out today." In 29 games Gonzalez is hitting .310 this season with 36 hits, 4 home runs, 16 RBIs, 7 walks, .352 OBP and has scored 22 runs. |
