Season-Ending Injury for Victor Lugo
Wednesday, September 17th, 2053
The doctors have spoken and Victor Lugo of the St. Louis Cardinals didn't like what he heard. The 24-year-old starting pitcher is almost certainly gone for the rest of the year and depending on his progress could miss some of next season as well. Lugo sustained his season-ending injury during the San Francisco Giants game yesterday at Busch Stadium. He had to leave the game because he hurt himself while throwing a pitch. Today the St. Louis medical staff reported Lugo had a torn rotator cuff and would be absent from the lineup for at least 14 months.

In 8 starts this season Lugo has chalked up a 1-5 record and a 6.32 ERA.
