Gumaer, Gonzales Suspended for Fracas Sunday, September 10th, 2051 If there wasn't a history between Steve Gumaer of Pittsburgh and Edgar Gonzales of Chicago, then there is one now. The incident between the two sparked a bench-clearing scrum with those two being the center of attention. Now they will miss 4 and 6 games respectively as a result of their actions. The league office announced their suspensions today. "We're both really competitive," Gumaer said later, "and sometimes things go a little too far because of it." So far this season Gumaer has put up a .365 batting average with 152 hits, 29 home runs and 103 RBIs. Thus far this season, Gonzales has worked 63.1 innings with 45 strikeouts en route to a 2-5 record and a 5.40 ERA. |
