Truax Pops 3 Out of the Park Against Tigers Wednesday, May 27th , 2093 Today was a special one for Dave Truax of the Cincinnati Reds as he slammed three home runs in the 7-6 win over the Detroit Tigers. "Lately, I've been uppercutting the ball too much," he said to sportswriters after the game. "I would hit it hard, but they just went sky high and stayed in the ballpark. No big long outs for me in this game. I leveled out my swing and connected on the sweet spot. I knew they were gone the minute I hit 'em." The Cincinnati catcher collected 3 hits in 3 at-bats, drove in 5, and scored 3 runs in the contest at Great American Ball Park. Dave Truax hit a solo-shot off Danny Simas in the 2nd, walked in the 4th, hit a three-run home run off Chris Parrish in the 5th, walked in the 7th and hit a solo-shot off Mike Yates in the 10th. Truax is hitting .261 for the season with 10 home runs, 21 RBIs and 23 runs scored. He has 35 hits in 134 at-bats and played in 35 games. |
