Trouble in St. Louis, Smeal Suffers Setback Thursday, May 8th , 2110 The St. Louis Cardinals will have to do without catcher Dave Smeal even longer than expected. Team doctors say that Smeal's recovery from a fractured finger has not gone well and more time will be needed to treat it successfully. The Cardinals trainer indicated it would be at least 3 months before they would consider activating Smeal. Dave Smeal is expected to undergo surgery in St. Louis(Missouri) tomorrow. This season, Smeal is batting .364 with 12 hits and 2 home runs. He has scored 6 times and has 3 RBI. |
