Pedro Porras, the Tampa Bay Rays 24-year-old first baseman, put himself in the spotlight last week making him the clear-cut choice for American League Player of the Week honors. He ripped 12 hits in 26 at-bats, compiling a .462 average with 3 home runs and 6 RBIs. So far this season Porras has hit .368 with 33 home runs, 82 RBIs and scored 66 times. |
