NL Star of the Week Honored Monday, June 12th, 2062 24-year-old Ricky Villanueva made a few Pittsburgh headlines during this past week as the rookie left fielder proved he could compete at the plate with his high-school idols. He captured the attention of fans, journalists and National League officials last week and today took home Player of the Week honors for his effort. He cracked 12 hits in 24 at-bats to put up a .500 average. Villanueva collected 2 home runs, 9 RBIs and scored 6 runs. Villanueva is batting at a .242 pace this season, picking up 55 hits in 227 at-bats with 14 home runs, 35 RBIs and 36 runs scored. |
