Hitting Streak Still Alive for Driscoll Monday, July 12th , 2077 Will Driscoll, third baseman for the Chicago Cubs, ran his consecutive-game hitting streak to 20 games with 1 hit in his club's 4-3 victory today over the Washington Nationals at Wrigley Field today. "Not the outcome we wanted," Washington manager Doug Graff said. "There's never a good time to lose, and it's never fun to be on the wrong end of somebody else's accomplishment." Will Driscoll grounded out in the 1st, hit a solo-shot off Joel Gill in the 4th, grounded out in the 6th, flied out in the 8th and struck out in the 10th. Looking at his present stats, Driscoll has compiled a .265 batting average in 86 games with a .320 on-base percentage, while hitting 7 home runs and driving in 47 runs. |
