Grimes Launches Number 400
Saturday, September 9th, 2056
Chicago's 6-3 victory over Colorado was highlighted by Bruce Grimes's 400th career home run. His teammates congratulated him at home plate after he circled the bases.

"I didn't see all of them out there," Grimes said with a chuckle, "until I rounded third base." He added sheepishly: "It was only a home run. It's not like I won us a World Series!"

In 3 at-bats the Cubs first baseman collected 1 hit in his historic game, scored 1 run, and had 1 run batted in.

A check of his lifetime stats shows Grimes has a career .296 average with 1879 hits, 381 doubles, 13 triples, 400 home runs and 1189 RBIs. To date he has scored 1018 runs, walked 593 times and stolen 1 bases.
