Yankees-Cubs Swap: Patlan for Taylor Wednesday, July 20th , 2072 It took some time to iron out the details, but the Yankees and Cubs have agreed to a swap. Chicago will get 27-year old RF Willie Patlan with New York receiving 24-year old minor league CF Josh Hutchison, 25-year old minor league RHP Brian Ratzlaff, 20-year old minor league 1B Miguel Lopez, and 26-year old LF Ryan Taylor in return. A source close to the trade talks said the two clubs were initially looking to make a bigger deal, but discussions broke off late last night. The two sides reconvened early today and eventually settled on this deal. So far this season Patlan has hit .299 with 11 home runs, 44 RBIs and scored 52 times. This season Taylor is batting .216 with 33 hits, 6 home runs, 26 RBIs, 21 walks, .309 OBP and has scored 20 runs. He has played in 58 games. |
