NL Announces Outstanding Batter Award Thursday, August 1st , 2086 There's nothing like putting up good, solid numbers in the last year of your contract. Today Chris Hernandez helped his contract negotiations by nabbing July's National League Batter of the Month honors. The Cincinnati left fielder put together a .400 batting average with 12 home runs, 24 RBIs and 20 runs scored. Someone will surely be opening up the vault this offseason if Hernandez continues at this brisk pace. Hernandez is swinging at a .363 pace on the year with 17 home runs, 40 RBIs and 39 runs scored. He has played in 44 games. |
