Venema Wins NL Best Player Award Monday, August 11th , 2087 It was some kind of week for Soren Venema of the Chicago Cubs. First he hits the heck out of the ball, ripping it at a .538 clip and the next thing you know, he is voted the Player of the Week in the National League. Last week Venema went 14-for-26, chalked up 2 home runs and 8 RBIs and scored 6 runs. Not a bad week's work at all. This year Venema is hitting .332 with 22 home runs and 87 RBIs to his credit. He has gotten on base at a .362 clip and scored 67 runs. |
