Hits Galore: Evans Drills 5 Hits
Wednesday, June 10th , 2099
It was a good day at Angel Stadium of Anaheim. The Los Angeles Angels whipped the Tampa Bay Rays 7-6 and first baseman Matt Evans showed off a hot bat, going 5-for-7 at the plate.

"Some days, lady luck is on your side," Evans told BNN reporters after the game.

Angels manager Matt Moore told the beat writers otherwise, calling the 27-year-old "focused and patient."

"It's not luck," he said. "He has a solid approach to hitting. Matt hits to all fields. The more solid at-bats you put together, the more success you're going to have."

Matt Evans singled in the 2nd, grounded out in the 4th, singled in the 6th, doubled in the 8th, hit a three-run home run off Manny Rice in the 9th, flied out in the 11th and singled in the 13th.

For the season Evans is hitting .300, batted in 47 runs with 24 home runs and 40 runs scored.
