Nestor Fuentes Injured, Out for Year Monday, June 9th , 2110 A blow for Nestor Fuentes today -- team doctors confirmed he will miss 8 months with a torn flexor tendon in his elbow. Fuentes suffered the injury throwing a pitch. Although officials from the Seattle Mariners are confident he'll make a full recovery, doubts will persist about Fuentes's ability to return fully fit with an injury of this nature. Fuentes has taken the mound for 21 relief appearances this season, nailing down no saves while notching a 0-2 record with a 4.50 ERA. The Seattle reliever has limited opposing batters to a .258 batting average. |
