Rookie Honored by National League Thursday, August 1st , 2075 The outstanding rookie has been named for July -- and the winner is Jared Givens. The National League awarded the trophy to him today in a press conference. It was his dazzling 3-0 record that brought the Chicago starter the Rookie of the Month award. Givens stood out last month with a 2.43 ERA in 5 starts, tossed 33.1 innings, fanned 23 and held other teams to a .262 average. On the year Givens has worked 101.1 innings with 71 strikeouts en route to a 8-5 record and 4.09 ERA. |
