Big Bang! 3 HR for Texas's Alvarez Tuesday, July 26th, 2061 Texas third baseman Marcos Alvarez blasted three homers today at Minute Maid Park in the 10-5 Rangers victory over the Houston Astros. For the game, Marcos Alvarez scored 3 times and knocked in 5 runs. When he hit his last home run, his teammates, hearing the crack of the bat, leaped off the bench and rushed on the field to greet the jubilant Alvarez when he reached home plate. "It was just one game, but it sure was a lot of fun -- 3-for-3, three roundtrippers and a win," a gleeful Alvarez told BNN reporters in a postgame interview. "What a day." Marcos Alvarez hit a solo-shot off Pat Ogden in the 2nd, hit a solo-shot off Joel Peterson in the 4th, walked in the 6th and hit a three-run home run off Javier Campos in the 7th. This year Alvarez has 10 home runs and a .350 batting average. |
