NL Chooses Rookie of the Year
Tuesday, December 2nd, 2053
Matt Calhoun's age didn't show very often in his first year. He performed more like a veteran on the hill for the Philadelphia Phillies and today he walked away with the 2053 National League Rookie of the Year Award.
The 23-year-old starter registered a 19-9 record this season in 35 starts. Over 225 innings he gave up 169 hits, struck out 250 and issued 98 walks as he held the opposition to a .210 batting average and fashioned a 3.04 ERA.
Jorge Barrera of the New York Mets finished second in voting, while Franklin Correa of the Chicago Cubs finished third.
