Cruz Gets July's Top Pitcher Trophy Tuesday, August 1st , 2073 Jorge Cruz of the Phillies bewildered opposing batters in July and was honored as the National League Pitcher of the Month earlier today. The Philadelphia starter sparkled last month with a 4-0 record and 2.61 ERA. He made 6 starts, tossed 41.1 innings and had 35 strikeouts. So far this year Cruz has made 20 starts, tossed 128.1 innings, struck out 107 batters and walked 34. His record is 9-3 with a 3.93 ERA and he has limited opposing teams to a .255 batting average. |
