Mets Lock up Reich with Extension Monday, August 29th , 2089 Russ Reich inked a deal that will keep the seasoned veteran on the Mets roster another 1 year. Earlier today team personnel announced that the 34-year-old had settled on a $5,500,000-a-year deal to play at Citi Field. It's no secret Reich is getting older, but he could still contribute a lot to the franchise. For the year Reich has 29 relief appearances and a 6-2 record with 3 saves. He has logged 32.1 innings and allowed 24 base hits. Opposing clubs have put up a .205 batting average against him. Reich has rung up 34 strikeouts, surrendered 17 walks and fashioned a 2.78 ERA. |
