Slaughter Extends Hit Streak to 25 Games
Monday, June 23rd , 2110
And the streak goes on.
Steve Slaughter collected yet another hit in the 2-1 Boston Red Sox win over the Mets at Fenway Park. The Boston left fielder finished 1-for-3 in the game. During an extended batting practice session before the game, the famously hard-working Slaughter had fielded questions from reporters about his hitting streak, which now sits at 25 games.
"I'm not doing too much special," he said. "I'm well-prepared and I'm just trying to get the bat on the ball and put it in play." Steve Slaughter flied out in the 1st, singled in the 4th and flied out in the 6th.
Posting a .353 batting average to date, Slaughter has 8 home runs and 35 RBIs.
