3 Bombs for Tristan Quinteros
Thursday, July 31st , 2070
Tristan Quinteros went on an explosive hitting spree against the Seattle Mariners at Safeco Field today, launching a trio of blasts to lead the Texas Rangers to the 7-5 win.
The first baseman finished 3-for-5 with 3 runs scored and 5 RBI.
"It was just one of those days," Quinteros said in a postgame interview. "I don't know how to explain it. I'm just putting a good swing on the ball."
Seattle skipper Zach Jordan said Quinteros was "locked-in."
"We made some pretty good pitches," he said. "Those first two homers were exactly where the pitcher wanted to put them. He's just hot right now -- you've just got to tip your hat to him."
Tristan Quinteros flied out in the 1st, flied out in the 3rd, hit a solo-shot off Leon Alviso in the 6th, hit a two-run home run off Jason Glaser in the 7th and hit a two-run home run off Guntur Paramita in the 9th.
This season Quinteros is swinging the bat at a .285 rate with 95 hits in 333 at-bats. To date he has hit 19 home runs, scored 56 runs and driven in 52.
