Chamissa Goes Yard 3 Times Wednesday, May 30th , 2114 Houston Astros left fielder Dimas Chamissa sensed he was going to have a good day at the plate, but he still might have underestimated it a little. Prior to the start of today's contest with the Boston Red Sox, Chamissa told teammates he was sure he would hit a home run. He did -- three times. "During batting practice I really had my swing down pat," he recalled. "I felt some thunder in the lumber." The big day from Chamissa pushed the Astros past the Red Sox, 11-7. To go along with the homers, he collected 5 RBIs and scored 3 runs. "I was seeing good, feeling good and swinging good," Chamissa told reporters after the game. Dimas Chamissa hit a solo-shot off Joe Figgs in the 1st, hit a three-run home run off Joe Figgs in the 3rd, hit a solo-shot off Jody Ford in the 5th, grounded out in the 6th and flied out in the 8th. Hitting .343 to date, Chamissa has 19 home runs and 44 RBIs. He has played in 47 games. |
