Lewis and Daas Brawl, League Suspends Them
Wednesday, September 6th , 2079
Yesterday at U.S. Cellular Field Joe Lewis and Marty Daas got into each other's space and then into each other's face. They began to grapple and fell to the ground. That's when it boiled over into a full-fledged bench-clearing tussle between the Chicago White Sox and Toronto Blue Jays. Reason finally prevailed as the umpires restored order. After much discussion, only the two major combatants were ejected from the game.

Today the league office notified the ballclubs that Lewis will have to sit out 2 while Daas would be given a 6-game suspension for their roles in the brawl.

For the year Lewis has hit .141 with 10 home runs, 32 RBIs and scored 23 runs.

Up to now Daas has compiled an ERA of 5.05 with a 6-10 mark over 29 starts. He has 129 strikeouts in 142.2 innings and has held opponents to a .291 batting average.
