Tampa Bay-Oakland Trade: Martinez for Cruz Friday, December 20th, 2052 Newspapers in Tampa Bay and Oakland reported that the Rays have reached a deal sending 25-year-old 2B Luis Martinez, 18-year-old minor league CF Roberto Ramirez and 19-year-old minor league RHP Dave Haney to the Athletics for 25-year-old CF Willie Cruz. Martinez has registered a career batting average of .257 with 247 hits, 27 homers and 129 RBIs. In his 475-game career Cruz has tagged 478 hits with 82 doubles, 16 triples and 71 home runs. His lifetime batting average is .267 with 257 RBIs and 264 runs scored. |
