Adkins Hitless, Stopped by Reds
Monday, July 18th , 2101
The hitting streak that San Francisco right fielder Ryan Adkins had kept going for 24 games was ended by the Cincinnati Reds. Adkins was stymied over 3 at-bats, but the rest of his team picked him up, getting the 5-2 victory at AT&T Park.

"Hitting streaks come and go," Adkins said. "It did put a little pressure on me. It's hard to be natural at the plate with something like that always in the back of your mind. If it had to end, I'm glad it was in a win."

Adkins on the season is batting .297 with 5 home runs. His totals include 40 RBIs and 69 runs scored. He has played in 77 games.
