Big Bang! 3 HR for Detroit's Valdes Wednesday, September 16th , 2071 Whatever Jose Valdes ate for breakfast before his game against the Toronto Blue Jays today, it gave him some impressive power. The Detroit right fielder smacked three balls up and out of the park at Rogers Centre. His home run barrage led the Tigers to take the 9-5 victory over the Blue Jays. "When they throw it in your wheelhouse, you've got a shot at a homer," he told BNN reporters after the game. "I got three shots today and nailed them all." On his 3-homer day, he went 4-for-5, scored 3 times, drove in 6 and put on a display that history will remember. Jose Valdes struck out in the 1st, singled in the 3rd, hit a solo-shot off Joe Greer in the 5th, hit a two-run home run off Tony Salinas in the 7th and hit a three-run home run off Jamie Simmons in the 8th. So far this season Valdes has hit .328 with 50 home runs, 157 RBIs and scored 123 times. |
