Big 3-HR Day for Gonzales
Tuesday, September 8th , 2105
Players don't hit three home runs in a game very often and when they do, it is something to celebrate. After today, Arturo Gonzales can celebrate.
The Los Angeles Dodgers left fielder powered three into the stands at Dodger Park against the San Francisco Giants.
"It's rare that you actually try to hit a home run," Gonzales told reporters after the game. "Most of the time you fail, if you really try to hit one. But today, I was really trying on that last one."
In all, he was 4-for-5 as the Dodgers toppled San Francisco by a score of 8-7, knocking in 4 runs and scoring 3 times.
"He is blessed with a natural home run swing," Los Angeles manager Giovanni Ciotti said. "He gets the ball up in the air."
Arturo Gonzales hit a solo-shot off Tony Wise in the 1st, struck out in the 3rd, singled in the 5th, hit a solo-shot off William Stuck in the 7th and hit a two-run home run off Josh Pratt in the 9th.
This year, Gonzales has hit at a .336 clip with 56 RBIs, 19 home runs and 60 runs scored.
